Ways to Get Involved at New Life Oak Forest:
 
 Are you looking for ways to use your talents for God and to help others?  Well we have some opportunities for you to be blessed by serving right here at YOUR home church. 

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY
USHER MINISTRY

We are looking for volunteers to help usher on Sunday mornings. Help us welcome and aid our Church family and guests. If you are interested in helping to serve in this ministry please email Rob Schoon at robs@newlifechicago.org

ADVENTURELAND TEACHERS

The Children’s Ministry is looking for teachers interested in working with children that are in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. For more info. about helping in this ministry please contact Grace Garcia (708) 516-4706.

NURSERY & PRESCHOOL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Children’s Ministry Nursery and classrooms ages Newborns though age 4 are in need of some volunteers to serve and help out in those departments. If teaching older children is not for you but you would enjoy spending time with the babies or toddlers we have opportunities for you to serve. Please contact Grace Garcia for more information. KLEAN FOR THE KING
 
If you are not available on Sunday mornings to serve or working with children is just not your gifting then how about joining the cleaning ministry that meets every Sat. morning to come together and clean the Lords House of Worship. There are currently several  opportunities to serve in this ministry. For more info. contact Peaches Sul at peaches (773) 972-4018.

MASTERS SERVANTS

Join the “Master’s Servants” ministry.  Help plan events and parties for our church.  We serve as a team of ladies who love to serve God with the abilities He’s Given us. Please call Grace at (708) 516-4706 if you would like more info. about this ministry. Follow Jesus example, he came to serve not to be served. Use your gifts for Him.


DO YOU LOVE TO COOK OR HELP IN THE KITCHEN?

We’d love to have you on our Celebrate Recovery Dinner Teams!  Volunteer 2-3 hours once a month to cook the Main Dinner at Celebrate Recovery.  Dinner is served at 5:30 pm on Wednesdays, so you’d have to be here by 3pm on the day you are to cook.  We are developing 4 Cooking Teams, so each team can serve only once a month on a rotating schedule. Many hands make the work easy and enjoyable. We have the menu’s and recipes already, we just need your help. Please email Sal at: Salf@newlifechicago.org.

However, people are lonelier and more isolated than ever.  Relationships stay shallow and we struggle to go deeper.  Find out how to break out of isolation, discover meaning in life, and enjoy fulfilling relationships.

Impact Rally 

Impact rallies are designed to inspire and equip new and mature believers alike, as we prepare for the Greg Laurie: Chicago Harvest. Teachings will include: the value of the Bible, the power of prayer, and our role in the local church, how to discover our God-given talents, and how to be a more effective at evangelism. The dates for the classes are: Sundays, Aug. 15 & 22, 9:00am, at NLCC Midway (4101 W. 51st Street). Mondays: Aug. 16 & 23, 7pm, at The Moody Church (1609 N. La Salle Dr.)

Here is more exciting news for our coffee affectionados! At Sundays at noon, we will have our service  "Cafe" style. Join us, bring a friend and be ready to enjoy yourselves in a relaxed cafe environment with an awesome message!
Parent Forums: July 27th & July 28th

Join us on Tuesday July 27 from 10-11:30 am for a parent forum “Disciplining Your Child” featuring quest speaker Mary Denson. There will be a second forum on July 28 from 10-11:30 “Not Losing Yourself as a Parent” by speaker Mary Denson. Cost is only $5 per person for each session and Free Child Care will be provided.
 
Compassion Fund Raiser: Aug. 3rd

Join us for “Chocolate, Shopping & Childcare” a fun Ladies Play Day to benefit all the ladies who attend and it will also be a blessing to the Compassion children sponsored by our Soul Purpose Youth. Please click here for more information!
 
Men’s Conference “Going Deeper”: Aug. 6th

Calling all men! Join us at our New Life Cicero Campus for a one night life changing conference featuring speakers Pastor James Ford Jr. and Dr. Michael Rydelnik.  The cost is $20 per person, you can register online at www.newlifechicago.org or call us at 708-780-5433.  Otherwise tickets can be purchased at the door.

Greg Laurie, Chicago Harvest: Sept. 24-26

More than 4,014,000 people world-wide have attended a Harvest event in person and more than 329,600 people have registered decisions of faith in Jesus Christ. You can do your part to help support the Chicago Harvest at the Allstate Arena by praying for this event. For more details, please take a moment to review the prayer guide in your bulletin. Stop in the foyer at the information table for more details on how you can participate.

Monopoly Tournament: Aug. 13
Save the date and invite some friends for our Second annual Monopoly Tournament to be held here at the church on August 13, 6:30-10pm. This is for anyone 18 or older. Tickets go on sale today for $6, on Sun. Aug. 1st tickets will be $8, Sun. Aug. 8th tickets will be $10, and $12 at the door. For more information call 727-504-9703.

Celebrate Recovery

Many Christians today struggle with be-setting sins and remain under the control of the world and all its vices and entrapments. Celebrate Recovery is a recovery ministry based on biblical principles with a goal to let God work through us in providing His healing power through a Christ centered 12-step program. This experience allows  people to be “changed” spiritually by working through sound biblical principles. Participants open the door by sharing their experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another.  In addition, they become willing to accept God’s grace and forgiveness in solving life’s problems. Celebrate Recovery provides a safe place for individuals to begin their journey of breaking out from their bondage and into God’s grace (II Corinthians 12:9), by helping them to start dealing with their hurts, hang-up’s and addictions.
