New Life Lakeview FAQ
What kind of church is New Life?
New Life is a non-denominational Christian Church. You may have seen our name before because we have multiple campuses around the city of Chicago (www.newlifechicago.org) We have pastors on staff that are graduates of Moody Bible Institute, Trinity Evangelical, Wheaton College and various other area religious and secular schools. For more on "what we believe" feel free to check out our statement of faith.

When are the services?
Worship gatherings are every Sunday at 9am & 11am. Small groups happen throughout the week in various locations. For directions and a map to the Sunday worship gathering click here .

Who are the pastors and staff?
Currently New Life has over 45 people on staff in various positions throughout Chicago. The primary teaching and location pastor at Lakeview is Kevin Bruursema.

What if my children need me while I’m in the service?
We have parents sign their children in when dropping them off for the morning at our KIDS Zone. For the nursery, parents receive a number that will be displayed above the left projector screen if your child needs you during the service. For the older kids, a worker will come and get you during the service if the child needs you. We want to make sure that children know they are safe and cared for.

How long has this church been in the area?
What is now New Life Community Church started in 1986 under the leadership of Mark Jobe, but our historical heritage in Chicago can be traced back to the late 1800s. Before New Life Lakeview began in 2000, the church at the corner of Damen and Wellington was called Galilee Baptist. It was incorporated in 1894 and we consider Galilee’s history in the community our history.
Where should I park?
There is a parking lot that we are able to use located at Schneider School that is west of our building on Wellington. The entrance to the parking lot is southside of the alley near George and Hoyne. See map

Is there a children’s program on Sunday mornings?
We currently have a children’s ministry called Kids Zone that serves children from birth to 6th grade. We encourage parents to drop their children off before worship service. For security purposes each child must be signed in at the Kids Zone designated are. Our children workers have been screened and trained for their position. If your child is sick we ask that you keep them with you during the worship service.

What should I wear?
This is one of the most common questions people ask. We do not have a standard church dress code, but generally speaking people come in casual or business casual clothes. We attract people from all ages and a variety of backgrounds, so come as you are. We look forward to seeing you—we’re not worried about what you are wearing.
