Who We Are
New Life is a non-denominational Christian church. In October of 2008 the building on the corner of Springfield and Hirsch was miraculously given to us by Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Bethel had a ministry on that corner for over 115 years.

New Life is one church that currently meets at 20 campuses in and around the city of Chicago (see map). Close to 4500 people worship at one of our 38 weekend worship services each Sunday. We are passionate about helping people reconnect with God and seeing lives and communities transformed.
Vision
At New Life Humboldt Park our desire is to help change many lives and in so doing transform the area around the corner where God has placed us. We are building a community of faith where people are reconnecting with God, restoring marriages, rebuilding families, breaking addictions, healing wounds, becoming whole and discovering their God given potential and destiny.
The Team
Freddy Cruz
Campus Pastor (Spanish)

Freddy was born and raised in the Logan Square Community located on the North side of Chicago. On the 21st of January 1991, his life was radically changed as he came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Freddy and his wife Lisa decided to move to the south side of Chicago as to get more involved at New Life Community Church. Since then he has been fully submerged in the vision and the values of New Life, faithfully serving and leading in various ministries demonstrating his hunger and desire to be used of God in greater ways. His passion and ability to speak Spanish has lead him to his current place of service as Nueva Vida's Campus Pastor. Freddy and Lisa along with their three handsome boys; Kelvin, Joseph and Julian together as a family have accepted the call and are anxious to see many come to know and experience the love of Christ.

John LaTorre
Campus Pastor (English)

In 2003, John LaTorre was radically delivered from the bondages of heroin addiction and given a restart at a new life through Jesus Christ. Upon his deliverance, Johnny B spent nearly 3 years at Teen Challenge in Boston, MA where he grew as a disciple of Christ, a leader of His people and a lover of His Word. In 2006, he moved to Chicago to attend Moody Bible Institute. He received his Pastoral Studies degree in 2010 and immediately enrolled in the Masters of Ministry program at Moody Theological Seminary where he is currently studying for his Masters of Ministry degree. He was married in 2009 to his partner and best friend Bethany. The following year they were blessed with their first daughter Jayla. Johnny B has served in the Humboldt Park neighborhood since 2009 with the hope of seeing the same transforming power he experienced shed abroad in as many lives as possible.  In January 2012, John assumed the role of lead pastor for the English congregation in Humboldt Park where he still currently serves.

Elizabeth Galik
